Beta 2 Models - Click them for full size images
All of the sheets below show the unskinned versions of the new player models that will be present in Beta 2. It's worth checking the Skins Section to see the completed models as they are skinned. As always we appreciate your feedback and welcome your input on our forums. To download Q3F Beta 1 go here.

Recon

In our original concept art the main goal of the Recon model was to portray his speed, light power/armour and need for communications to keep his team alert of obstacles ahead of them. Weighting most of his frame in the legs where he’s equipped with Power Boots(tm) and the addition of a MIC/headset we think we’ve achieved that with this, the first of three new player models by Hoffa.

Sniper

Keeping each class distinguishable was one of the primary targets we gave our Concept Artist, and so for the Sniper (who's lightly armoured and of average speed) things were kept quite simple. This model was created by Hoffa, who also created the Recon and Grenadier model.

Soldier

The Q3F theme is fairly contemporary and we felt that if anyone would be likely to benefit from advanced combat armour, it'd be the Soldier. However, to keep the polycount low, Naz had to remove the arm-supports that featured in our original concept art.

Grenadier

We've always liked the individuality of our existing Grenadier, and while we're working on new models for many of his weapons, the inspiration for the player class model itself came straight from our Beta 1 skin. This is Hoffa’s third player model for Q3F.

Paramedic

Everyone knows that the main part of being a Paramedic should be saving people, though in Q3F that's only half his job. Friend or foe, he's there to cut you up and that was the directive Bobo had in mind when drawing the concept sketches for our syringe wielding class. In this, Bobo’s first of three new player models for Q3F, you need to look fairly closely to see how the skin will be used over the model to show off things like his face mask.

Minigunner

Naz’s second player model for Q3F comes to us in the form of the Minigunner! The biggest, baddest (and slowest) class in Q3F - and we think you’ll agree that’s the impression you get when looking at this model.

Flametrooper

Flame-retardant clothing was the first item on Bobo's list when he set about creating concept art for the napalm loving class of Q3F, and he’s continued this on with his second model for Q3F.

Agent

With the ability to turn invisible and disguise himself by morphing in to an enemy look-a-like, this was the one model where we felt the concept art needed a little tweaking. He needed a slightly more futuristic feel and so Dimitrius set to work on this updated version.

Engineer

Bobotheseal’s final player model in the current set is the Engineer and as you’ll see from above, is very truthful to the original concept art. Cute as his builders hat was in Beta 1, we decided to bring the Engineer kicking and screaming in to the new millennium. The look is very contemporary, but when you consider this class carries Pulse Grenades, fires a Rail Gun and builds Autosentries, we think the idea of him looking a bit more up to date is more cohesive.
