Fighting on the map Sunburn, a Soldier to the right of camera (as shown by the blue dot in the Recon’s in-HUD radar) fires a rocket right in front of the unsuspecting player! Luckily he survives the shot long enough to witness a rocket impact up close - and the resulting brand-new Beta 2 explosion effects! In the background you can also make out a smoking oil drum - a lifelike special effect as a result of our new particle engine.

The new Q3F Beta 2 Supply Station waits patiently for a passing player to stir it into activity, and with the shot above taken on Siege, the engineer is able to see his Sentry-Cam’s view back in the flag room too.

Q3F Beta 2's new Supply Station in action! Wherever possible within Q3F Beta 2, we've tried to move player interactivity out of the HUD/Menu System and in to the game. One of the way's we've done this is to implement a system called Panel Entities and this is demonstrated above. In the example above, a Panel Entity is used to link to a menu for operating the Supply Station. With Panel Entities we're able to detail pretty much any textual aspect of the game and then place it anywhere, making objects and the environment far more interactive.

Showing off the central area of Muon (boasting a portal sky and environmental effects), the shot above demonstrates the Engineer's new HUD, including the fantastic new Sentry-Cam! There is (as you might have guessed) a frame-rate hit for the use of features such of these, but don’t worry as they are all fully configurable to ensure lower-end systems can still play Q3F Beta 2.

Showing off some of Beta 2's new explosion effects, the shot above features the Paramedic wielding his brand-new Super Nail-Gun. Detailed environments and higher quality weapon models are just two of the ways we’re working to further improve Q3F's immersive factor. This shot was taken on the incredible map Japan Castles.

One of Q3F Beta2's new features is the ability to customise the HUD just how YOU want it as demonstrated by the shot above taken on Muon. Using the new in-game command '/edithud', you're now able to enable, disable and alter the placement of HUD items (such as your health bar, or flag status icons) and then save this layout in to a special HUD layout slot for future use at any time. This system (available to all players) allows classes like engineer to have very detailed HUDs, while perhaps Recons for example, may wish to have as simple a display as possible.
